Strategic Brand Development: Creating a Voice for your Company

Brand management is consciously providing a unique voice or message that is understood on every level. This means both internally and externally and includes customers, employees, suppliers, and vendors. Done right, this translates into the purchase of that product or service over that of a competitor.

Branding is a cyclical process with three distinct elements:

  1. Understanding who we are today. Consider this a discovery or brand reality.
  2. Understanding where we want to go tomorrow. The focus now becomes understanding the components of the brand's core assets and selecting what will be communicated. We'll be visualizing what's to come.
  3. Understanding how were going to get there. Here we'll look to create the experience. Goals will be to build category and leadership positions while activating our messaging tools and programs.

No doubt about it, brand management is the philosophy and core behind all business development.

    Yahoo Dave! Couldn't agree more about the need for internal staff to be on the same page with a company's brand plan.

    No brand development plan should be developed without including the internal staff and how to get everyone on board. It's not only important it's vital.
